Enable Windows Aero

The following settings must be enabled to use the Aero User Interface:

32-bit color
Monitor refresh rate higher than 10 Hz
Windows Vista™ theme
Windows Aero color scheme
Window frame transparency enabled

Set the color to 32 bit
Right-click the Desktop, and click Personalize.
Click Display Settings.
Click the drop-down menu under Colors, and select Highest (32 bit).
Click Apply and then OK.
The color is set to 32 bit.

Verify the Monitor Refresh Rate Is Higher than 10 Hertz
Right-click the Desktop, and click Personalize.
Click Display Settings.
Click Advanced Setting.
Click the Monitor tab.
Click the drop-down menu under Screen Refresh Rate and select a refresh rate that is higher than 10 Hertz.

Use the Windows Vista Theme
Right-click the Desktop, and click Personalize.
Click Theme.
Click the drop down menu, and select Windows Vista.
Click OK.

Select the Windows Aero Color Scheme
Right-click the Desktop, and click Personalize.
Click Window Color and Appearance.
Click Open classic appearance properties for more color options.
Click to select Windows Aero in the Color Scheme section.
Click Apply and then OK.


Enable Window Frame Transparency
Right-click the Desktop, and click Personalize.
Click Window Color and Appearance.
Verify that the Enable Transparency check box is checked.
Click OK.
Windows Aero transparency is enabled.
